Fast forward to 2022, with 15 Cook Teams and over 1000 guests!
Dan Quinn created Pigstock to benefit a charity organization that he is passionate about, Children of Vietnam (childrenofvietnam.org). He teamed up with fellow Rotarians and started with a few cook teams and about 100 guests. With each passing year he has watched Pigstock grow into a significant fundraising event, and has witnessed firsthand how the funds raised directly improve the lives of children living in poverty in Vietnam.
So what is Pigstock?
It's a super fun, all day family friendly event featuring a BBQ Competition, live Bluegrass Music, and all-you-can-eat BBQ, sides, desserts, tea, beer and wine, held outside on a beautiful North Carolina horse farm! There are two ticket types available, one with alcohol included, and one without.
Pigstock offers any non-professional cook or cook team the opportunity to compete in multiple categories on the grill. Our guests walk from tent to tent, sampling the different selections and eating 'til their hearts are content, all while enjoying Bluegrass music and those beverages that pair with BBQ so well. There are even a few games for the kids to enjoy. At the end of the day, the judges deliver results and prizes for the multiple categories.
